Cathy Guetzlaff

Once upon a time, Cathy was a computer geek at Cray, where she designed widgets for user interfaces. That's where she was when I met her, but actually, I was never there myself, and, well, we didn't actually meet for a long time after we met each other. Confused? Good, so am I.

The point, of course, is that I met Cathy on a mailing list. She's been gone from the list for more years that I should admit, so I won't. But we've remained close friends.

Cathy is currently a grad student at the University of Minnesotta, working on a masters degree in computer science. She's also had a number of jobs since leaving Cray. She worked for a while at the Icky Pictures company (if you don't believe me, have a look at http://www.vitalimages.com. Now she's working at Net Perceptions, a local start-up, and she seems quite pleased.

Cathy is also the Supreme Debugger of the Universe. No, really! Trust me! She told me so herself!

If you nab the full picture, you'll see Cathy, hanging out with her friend Carla, with the Golden Gate Bridge in the background. Wanna know why they're grinning so wide? It seems that they were having a wee bit of trouble with the camera -- it kept trying to slide off the car where it was perched. (64K)
